Best Mystic Messenger Moments
This will probably be the last Mystic Messenger post that I'll be doing since I already deleted the app. I chose ebooks over it π since my phone has limited memory and can't have both. I've tried moving Mysitic Messenger files AND my ebooks into my SD card but nothing worked. So as attribute to my happy days playing the game I took pictures of the last few funny and heart-melting scenes of the game that I LOVED.

1. Zen reads his lines

2. 707 is out of context

3. Jumin offers me a job

5. Ray : Don't leave me!

6. Wise Words from 707 Kami-sama
Thank you Mystic Messenger for the fum times we've had. I still hope I'd be able to intall this app again. BEST APP EVER!

I'm torn between Jumin and Zen but for the Christmas Special I like Zen's ending best.

Of Parker and Lane
A Brief Game Review on GameHouse's Parker and Lane
This is probably the FIRST game that GameHouse released under the same company as Delicious Emily's games which I've loved. I used to play the Delicious Emily games to pass the time when I was an undergrad and I still do now. I really love how the characters are built and they grow with their audience. I also love the Nancy Drew games created by Her Interactive. I love how the stories twists, the puzzles and how the characters where created. I even played the horror themed ones and I hate horror themed anythings ( I have a very active imagination after watching horror πππ films so I try NEVER to watch them if I want to sleep and I WANT TO SLEEP).
You could just imagine how thrilled I was with this new game. Its like everything I loved rolled into one game!
SPOILER ALERT
However, after playing the first 10 episodes of the game I got tired of it. The story started out great but the game felt heavy and the story line was dragging a little. Maybe it's because the new character here, Parker, has a lot of issues. I'm confused as to whether she was scared for life that's why she hates men or maybe she's just trying to prove to her boss and her workmates that she knows what she's doing. Also, and I know this is a silly one but it really bugged me, why is she always angry at Lane for being an attorney who earns money? She's a cop, doesn't she know the saying "innocent until proven guilty"?
Lane, on the other hand, needs to have a bit deeper background story. This will probably unfold with in the next few episodes but what's up with the kid? And why the brown jacket? Before starting the game I thought he was the detective and not the girl.
The progress of the characters were also too slow. They kept arguing through out episodes 11 to 30. Could they have at least triggered a bomb that made them a little comfortable with each other during the basement episode? This should have been an action packed game. Nancy Drew ALWAYS gets stuck in a room when investigating. Heart's Medicine - A Time To Heal had more action packed episodes than this.
Lastly, I'd like to point out that the game play is almost the same as Delicious Emily's or Dr. Cares and that surprised me. She was serving them their equipment, it felt unrealistic. I wish the team who made this game watched a few episodes of Castle. I mean, why would the lead detective HAND equipment to the Forensic team?

In conclusion
Will I still play this game? Yes, I always finish what I started and ONLY BECAUSE I've already started playing it. If the ending is good (at the least) I might still play the next episode of this. I'm still willing to give this game a chance.Wednesday, May 2, 2018

On Hiatus
I was SSOOO excited to share new content through my blog this summer to my very few readers. However, my AdSense it taking FOREVER to setup and I was expecting this blog would help me financially...somehow.
I would really loved writing and sharing my limited knowledge on (nearly) FREE GAMES for girls and girls-at-heart but I need money as well. I will have to hold back on this blog until further notice. Please wait until then.

Otome Games That Broke My Heart π
I AM A CHEAPSKATE....but you probably know that by now if you've been reading some of my blog posts. If not and this is the first time you've navigated through this side of the internet well I've been blogging about otome games, the free offline kind that you can play using your mobile device FOR FREE!!! (almost)
Seriously though who doesn't LOVE FREE THINGS?
I get that people behind the games, the developers, coders, voice actors, writer and all, need to get paid through game purchases and I pay for my some of the otome games I played (e.g. Mystic Messenger) but in my quest to find free mobile games I came across these games that really disheartened me.
After agreeing to take the job, the player will choose one of these characters to be her final student.Principal Hashizuka is included but will only be playable after finishing ALL the chapters.
My concern is that each episode of each character NEEDS TO BE BOUGHT.π ALSO it gives a bad message to younger players that it's okay to talk to strangers. It's never okay to talk to strangers, especially when they offer you a job put of the blue. She should have ran. πΊπΎπ©
Why is this game here? While playing it on Day 3 (I think) I realized that this game had not story line, no ending. That was a big no, no for me. Another was that the game was made to make the player WANT the things in their quests. In order to get the special items you either have to buy time OR be active online which was costing me money. I couldn't keep paying for internet connections AND play while I was working. That's just very irresponsible.
Another thing I didn't like was that you could have more than 1 boyfriend and since the Target Audience of this game was younger girls I didn't like that that option. It's like telling young women that it's okay if you get bored in a relationship, just change the guy your with. Relationships aren't like that.
Day7, the game company that made this game, really came close in creating a Mystic Messenger type of game. I was really excited when I downloaded this game.
The player has a sleeping problem and discovers this service that lets customers borrow a guy that would sleep in the same bed with them to guard them when they sleep or if they feel lonely. It's like a boyfriend rental type of service. I really loved the variety of the characters this game offered and the idea that I could have had the nearest boyfriend rental service experience.
Like the previous games, this one also NEEDS PURCHASING to progress to episodes which really sucked. Worst part is that unlike Mystic Messenger where you can collect hearts from the UFO eating Honey Buddha Chips, this one doesn't have that option.
The only "freebie" I got from this game was an epilogue. π
I would have liked them more if they didn't cost so much, they didn't need internet and the player had the chance to have an episode in a particular time. Mystic Messenger also has characters and story lines that aren't playable if you don't purchase but AT LEAST the player get to play with ALL of the characters' episodes or THE WHOLE story line when we purchase them. These games are very limiting and too profit driven. Not to mention they SEND WRONG MESSAGES to younger players.
I had to uninstall them and move on.
I got back the first games that I loved playing. I hope to share them to you soon.

1. My Pure Boyfriend - Kiss Me Cherry
This game was created by Genius inc. I was SSOOO hooked on the epilogue of this game when I started playing it.The player's character here is in her late 20s to early 30s who just got dumped and is jobless. A stranger approaches her and gives her a job, a teaching position, at an elite school for boys.![]() |
| A REALLY good-looking guy for a principal. |

2. Dream Boyfriend
The player in this game gets a customized boyfriend from the gods. The activities your boyfriend does affects his personality and characteristics. It's not playable offline but it has a lot of freebies and game activities so the player doesn't get bored.![]() |

Which Haru is THE HARU?
In Search for Haru: Game Review
Have you ever had a crush on someone for a long time but never had the guts to tell them how you feel until you just had to move to another place and then move back again? Did you ever try to look for that old flame, may be on FB?
No?
Well... neither have I. BUT like most girls (and guys) I've always wondered how that would feel like.
(No? Just me?) SEEC inc. got us covered.
(Spoiler) I'm telling you now this game shocked me. It's has the most unpredictable endings I've ever played on my phone - so far.
Like the game Jimi Kare : My Quiet Boyfriend, this game branches out to Four (4) Ending and you get to choose your ending.
To do that you need to collect stars by talking to your schoolmates by clicking on them. Common NPCs would give you one π star. Special NPC Characters would give 2-3 πππ stars. Their's also the Lucky Sratch-off that resets every hour to help you collect the star points.![]() |
| My Fave Pic from the game. |
I've written before that I'm a fan of games by SEEC inc, This is their second otome game that I've played. I like that they are considerate of their players and their games can be played off-line using you phone which is why I started following them and checking their Google Play page from time to time PLUS they have plot twists that never fails to blow my mind π₯.

It Started with an App: Mystic Messenger Game
Origin story?
This is technically the origin story of how I became an Otome Game fan. I was newly hired by my company (my work is far from what I do in this blog). I was bored and my co-workers treated me like how your would react after getting a flu shot. So I decided to do something spontaneous.I fished out my newly bought phone and looked for a gaming app, a chat-bot to be exact. I was hoping to install a SimSimi app and chat away my boredom. (FYI: For those who don't know who or what is a SimSimi it was a famous hit chat-bot in the early 2000s.) Then, I came across this image.
I thought, Oh! cool looking chatbot! and downloaded the app. I soon found out that it wasn't any ordinary chat-bot but an otome novel.
In the game you, MC (but you can choose your character's name) was tricked into going into a condo unit by a hacker-slash-stalker who lures you through an app messenger. It turns out the unit you're in belongs to a party coordinator for a group called RFA. With the old party coordinator gone, the group asks you to be their new party coordinator while they help you with the hacker-stalker problem.
Story Routes and DLCs
Originally, player can choose only two stories: Casual and Deep. Cheritz.co, the game developer, eventually added DLCs, on for April Fools and one for Christmas. A Valentine's Day DLC was also added but after a few updates I found out that the Valentines DLC where relocated to After Endings.
V's Route was added. It's like a spin-off of the original story. This character doesn't have an After Ending yet but I hope it comes out soonest.
For Noobs:
This is what I discovered after playing Mystic Messenger for about a year or so now. I'm hoping this will help new players who have recently discovered this game.
1. Thou Shall Not Play with Time (on you phone)
I got into a jam when I changed my time while playing this game. Back story, my boss decided to change the bio-metric time a few minutes earlier and I was synchronizing my phones time with it. After that, I checked the Honey Budda Chips below my screen to claim a few more hearts but instead I got a warning that I committed an illegal act and that I need to log out of the game. I tried fixing it by restarting the game and the app but the warning was still their. So I prepared for the worst. Thankfully, my account hasn't been blocked by the game developers.
2. Play in Between Chat Time
The chat rooms in this game, though in military format, opens at a particular time of the day so your first impulse is to check every hour and see if a chat room has opened or else you won't be able to participate in that chat room. I recently found out that chat rooms don't close an hour after they open. So instead of waking up every hour I suggest you do this.
Let's say that Day 3's chat room schedules are as follows:
00:00 - 02:00 - 07:00
So their is a 2 hours interval from 00:00 (which is 12am in standard time) to 02:00 and a 5 hours internal from 02:00 to 07:00. Instead of waking up both on 12 am AND 2am in the morning to play the game you can wake up 15-30 minutes before 2am to participate in the 12 am chat room.
3. Keep ALL the hour glass
As much as possible, collect all the hearts and hour glasses you can get. Try not to give into the temptation of buying the whole day 'cause you can afford it. Instead of buying the whole day, you can use the hour glasses you collect for the After Endings. Most of them don't open unless you pay up.
Hour glass drops can be obtained if you get a new guest. You can do this by clicking the picture in the guest album. Click on the picture of the guest then click RFA comment. A conversation will pop-out with one of the members and then an hour glass will be given. Opening unique replies from the members and updating the game also gives you free hour glasses.
4. Visit these blogs as well!
I don't give out much details about the games but if you want thorough walkthroughs I suggest you visit Otome Obssesion, Otome Dreamworld and VG24/7 (very helpful during V's route). These helped me a lot.
A Call to Support
I've featured otome games that mostly get their pay through ads. This game doesn't have adds though but they don't totally manipulate their players into buying products to progress the game. I hope you support this company by buying a few hour glasses. They don't cost much.Thursday, December 21, 2017
Helpful Tip for Avid Ebook Readers
This tip is for Samsung J7 who likes to use GOOGLE PLAY BOOK APP onlyπ.
I've been having trouble with my phone lately.
I wanted this blog to contain ebooks and otome games that I've enjoyed that are available for mobile users and that the small number of readers I get can enjoy too. However, my phone's internal memory can only hold a number of apps and ebooks. As I download more ebooks my phone memory dwindles leaving me lesser space for game recordings and installations. The only way I can have more phone memory is by changing the place my ebooks are stored from the internal memory to the SD memory which still have PLENTY of free space.
So I scour the internet for hours hoping to find any helpful tips but my search was in vain. No blog post or Youtube videos showed me what I wanted. As I was about to delete my Googlebooks forever I found an option that solved my problem.
1. Long press Google Play Books App on your phone then CLICK App Info.
2. Scroll down >> Select Memory
3. Look for Storage used (default should indicate Internal Storage) >> Click CHANGE.
4. An option will pop-up. Select SD card.
That should change the setting. It did work for me. I've noticed my SD Memory increased as I downloaded more books. I hope this helps. ✌

Finding Love before Christmas Day
Office Lovers ~ Forbidden Romance~
I never dreamed of working in an office and believe me I've worked in one before. The stress and the toxic environment, I just can't. There aren't many decent corporations that actually care for their employees. Besides, I'm the kind of girl who loves to soak up some Vitamin D every chance I get despite my friends' constant nagging that I use a "Sunbrella" specially at noon or I might get skin cancer or worse. (OH SUN! THANK YOU LORD FOR MAKING THE SUN!ππ)
Then I came across this game.
I thought to myself, WHAT IF I was able to get in a company stable company with a great working environment? I'd really give my best for that company. I'd actually look forward to the days I have work... and maybe find someone nice while working for that company. I'd be dating a man in a suit!π
(Then I remembered this scene from Young and Hungry and my thoughts were somewhere else....π¨
.........
π )
Thankfully this game let's you date one of these good-looking gentlemen in actual office suits. Office lovers ~Forbidden Romance~, a game by D3 Publishing, Inc. and is available in Googleplay.
You get to work on a huge cosmetic company and placed in a team of hottie-hot-hotties to work on an exclusive Christmas product, but plot twist, you can't fall in love with ANY of them! (Yep, you can't. Not even the CEOπ).
The game has a total of eight chapters. Finish one character to open special pictures in the gallery and unlock date sequences and a sequel to each of the characters. I played Mr. CEO's route as my finale just as the game suggested. He's my least favorite character. I did love player Saijo's route. The game has two endings per character, Good and Best. You can unlock the Best Ending when you reach 80% attraction (for PC users).
Can you finish your project AND find love along the way?
