Otome Games That Broke My Heart πŸ’”

I AM A CHEAPSKATE....but you probably know that by now if you've been reading some of my blog posts. If not and this is the first time you've navigated through this side of the internet well I've been blogging about otome games, the free offline kind that you can play using your mobile device FOR FREE!!! (almost)

Seriously though who doesn't LOVE FREE THINGS?

I get that people behind the games, the developers, coders, voice actors, writer and all, need to get paid through game purchases and I pay for my some of the otome games I played (e.g. Mystic Messenger) but in my quest to find free mobile games I came across these games that really disheartened me.

1. My Pure Boyfriend - Kiss Me Cherry

This game was created by Genius inc. I was SSOOO hooked on the epilogue of this game when I started playing it.The player's character here is in her late 20s to early 30s who just got dumped and is jobless. A stranger approaches her and gives her a job, a teaching position, at an elite school for boys.

A REALLY good-looking guy for a principal.
After agreeing to take the job, the player will choose one of these characters to be her final student.Principal Hashizuka is included but will only be playable after finishing ALL the chapters.

My concern is that each episode of each character NEEDS TO BE BOUGHT.😞 ALSO it gives a bad message to younger players that it's okay to talk to strangers. It's never okay to talk to strangers, especially when they offer you a job put of the blue. She should have ran. πŸΊπŸΎπŸ‘©

2. Dream Boyfriend

The player in this game gets a customized boyfriend from the gods. The activities your boyfriend does affects his personality and characteristics. It's not playable offline but it has a lot of freebies and game activities so the player doesn't get bored.

This is the HOW TO PLAY pictures of the game.

Why is this game here? While playing it on Day 3 (I think) I realized that this game had not story line, no ending. That was a big no, no for me. Another was that the game was made to make the player WANT the things in their quests. In order to get the special items you either have to buy time OR be active online which was costing me money. I couldn't keep paying for internet connections AND play while I was working. That's just very irresponsible.

Dream Boyfriend Default Avatar

Another thing I didn't like was that you could have more than 1 boyfriend and since the Target Audience of this game was younger girls I didn't like that that option. It's like telling young women that it's okay if you get bored in a relationship, just change the guy your with. Relationships aren't like that.

3. Sleeping Delivery

Day7, the game company that made this game, really came close in creating a Mystic Messenger type of game. I was really excited when I downloaded this game.

The player has a sleeping problem and discovers this service that lets customers borrow a guy that would sleep in the same bed with them to guard them when they sleep or if they feel lonely. It's like a boyfriend rental type of service. I really loved the variety of the characters this game offered and the idea that I could have had the nearest boyfriend rental service experience.

Like the previous games, this one also NEEDS PURCHASING to progress to episodes which really sucked. Worst part is that unlike Mystic Messenger where you can collect hearts from the UFO eating Honey Buddha Chips, this one doesn't have that option.

The only "freebie" I got from this game was an epilogue. 😞

In Summary

I would have liked them more if they didn't cost so much, they didn't need internet and the player had the chance to have an episode in a particular time. Mystic Messenger also has characters and story lines that aren't playable if you don't purchase but AT LEAST the player get to play with ALL of the characters' episodes or THE WHOLE story line when we purchase them. These games are very limiting and too profit driven. Not to mention they SEND WRONG MESSAGES to younger players.

I had to uninstall them and move on.

I got back the first games that I loved playing. I hope to share them to you soon.
